# gst: the turbulence development at its initial stage, a scenario based on the idea of vortices decay.

<< ️In this paper, a model of the development of a quantum turbulence in its initial stage is proposed. The origin of the turbulence in the suggested model is the decay of vortex loops with an internal structure. >>

AA << ️consider the initial stage of this process, before an equilibrium state is established. As result of (Their) study, the density matrix of developing turbulent flow is calculated. The quantization scheme of the classical vortex rings system is based on the approach proposed by the author earlier. >>

# gst: irreversibility in scalar active turbulence, the role of topological defects.

<< ️In many active systems, swimmers collectively stir the surrounding fluid to stabilize some self-sustained vortices. The resulting nonequilibrium state is often referred to as active turbulence, by analogy with the turbulence of passive fluids under external stirring. Although active turbulence clearly operates far from equilibrium, it can be challenging to pinpoint which emergent features primarily control the deviation from an equilibrium reversible dynamics. >>

Here, AA << reveal that dynamical irreversibility essentially stems from singularities in the active stress. Specifically, considering the coupled dynamics of the swimmer density and the stream function, (AA) demonstrate that the symmetries of vortical flows around defects determine the overall irreversibility. (Their) detailed analysis leads to identifying specific configurations of defect pairs as the dominant contribution to irreversibility. >>

# gst: noise reinstates collapsed populations; stochastic reversal of deterministic extinction.

<< ️Conventional wisdom suggests that environmental noise drives populations toward extinction. In contrast, (AA) report a paradoxical phenomenon in which stochasticity reverses a deterministic tipping point, thereby preventing collapse. Using a hybrid model that integrates logistic growth with a density-triggered sigmoidal collapse, (They) uncover a striking reversal: deterministic fragility on one side, and stochastic rescue under weak noise on the other. >>

AA << analysis demonstrates that noise disrupts the convergence of deterministic trajectories toward extinction by altering the phase space topology, enabling back-transitions to viable states. This mechanism gives rise to noise-induced metastability and reveals a form of stochastic robustness not captured by deterministic models. >>

<< ️These findings suggest that natural fluctuations can serve as a stabilizing force in complex systems, offering a compelling counter-narrative to classical models in ecology, epidemiology, and beyond. (AA) advocate for a re-evaluation of stabilization strategies, emphasizing the constructive role of stochasticity in averting population collapse. >>

# gst: self-feedback delay induces extreme events in the theoretical Brusselator system.

AA << ️present a study of the theoretical Brusselator model with time-delayed self-feedback, demonstrating its ability to induce extreme events when delays in reaction processes significantly influence subsequent dynamics, with and without diffusion. >>

<< ️Stability analyses reveal the mechanisms driving this behavior with respect to the delay time. The occurrence of extreme events is validated using various numerical and statistical tools, including phase portraits, time series, probability distribution functions, return periods, and spatiotemporal evolution. >>

<< ️A comprehensive two-parameter scan delineates the parameter regimes where the extreme events emerge, alongside the identification of transient chaos within specific regions of the parameter space. To confirm these numerical findings, (AA) constructed an analog electronic circuit that emulates the model, providing experimental validation of the predicted dynamics. >>

# gst: prethermalization in Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou chains

<< ️The observation of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou (FPUT) paradox, namely the lack of equipartition in the evolution of a normal mode in a nonlinear chain on unexpectedly long times, is arguably the most famous numerical experiment in the history of physics. >>

<< ️Seventy years after the original publication, most studies in FPUT chains still focus on long wavelength initial states similar to the original paper. It is shown here that all characteristic features of the FPUT paradox are rendered even more striking if modes with short(er) wavelengths are evolved instead. >>

<< ️Since not every normal mode leads to equipartition, (AA) also provide a simple technique to predict which modes, and in what perturbation order, are excited starting from an initial mode (root) in 𝛼-FPUT chains. The excitation sequences associated with a root are then numerically shown to spread energy at different speeds, leading to prethermalization regimes that become longer as a function of mode excitation number. This effect is visible in observables such as mode energies and spectral entropies and, surprisingly, also in the time evolution of invariant quantities such as Lyapunov times and Kolmogorov-Sinai entropies. >>

AA << findings generalize the original FPUT experiment, provide an original look at the paradox's source, and enrich the vast literature dedicated to studying equipartition in classical many-body systems. >>

# gst: apropos of ghost entities, criticality governs response dynamics and entrainment of periodically forced ghost cycles.

<< ️Many natural and engineered systems display oscillations that are characterized by multiple timescales. Typically, such systems are described as slow-fast systems, where the slow dynamics result from a hyperbolic slow manifold that guides the movement of the system's trajectories. Recently, (AA) have provided an alternative description in which the slow timescale results from Lyapunov-unstable transient dynamics of connected dynamical ghosts that form a closed orbit termed ghost cycle. >>

Here, AA << investigate the response properties of both types of systems to external forcing. Using the classical Van der Pol oscillator and modified versions of this model that correspond to a one-ghost and a two-ghost cycle, respectively, (They) find significant differences in the responses of slow-fast systems and ghost cycles, including increased entrainment regions of the latter. Nonautonomous model analysis reveals that the differences stem from a continuous remodeling of the attractor landscape of the ghost cycle models, enabled by being organized close to saddle-node on invariant cycle bifurcations, in contrast to a qualitatively unaltered attractor landscape of the slow-fast system. >>

(AA) << ️further demonstrate that the observed features occur in various systems with ghost cycles regardless of the exact mathematical model formulation leading to those ghost cycles, making them likely to apply to many other models with ghost cycles across different disciplines and contexts. (They) thus propose that systems containing ghost cycles display increased flexibility and responsiveness to continuous environmental changes. >>

# gst: additional jamming transition in two-dimensional bidisperse granular packings.

AA << ️present a jamming diagram for two-dimensional bidisperse granular systems, capturing two distinct jamming transitions. The first occurs as large particles form a jammed structure, while the second, emerging at a critical small-particle concentration, 𝑋*_S ≈0.21, and size ratio, 𝛿*≈0.25, involves small particles jamming into the voids of the existing large-particle structure upon further compression. >>

<< ️Below this threshold, small particles fill voids within the large-particle network, increasing packing density. Beyond this point, excess small particles disrupt efficient packing, resulting in looser structures. These results, consistent with previous three-dimensional studies, demonstrate that the second transition occurs at a well-defined point in the (𝑋_S,𝛿) plane, independent of dimensionality, likely driven by the geometric saturation of available space around particles, void closure, and structural arrangement. >>

<< ️The second transition reveals that jamming in mixtures of differently sized particles does not occur through a single, unified process. Instead, it can involve multiple, distinct transitions, each associated with a specific particle size and contributing uniquely to the emergence of rigidity through excluded area effects and spatial organization. >>
