# gst: additional jamming transition in two-dimensional bidisperse granular packings.

AA << ️present a jamming diagram for two-dimensional bidisperse granular systems, capturing two distinct jamming transitions. The first occurs as large particles form a jammed structure, while the second, emerging at a critical small-particle concentration, 𝑋*_S ≈0.21, and size ratio, 𝛿*≈0.25, involves small particles jamming into the voids of the existing large-particle structure upon further compression. >>

<< ️Below this threshold, small particles fill voids within the large-particle network, increasing packing density. Beyond this point, excess small particles disrupt efficient packing, resulting in looser structures. These results, consistent with previous three-dimensional studies, demonstrate that the second transition occurs at a well-defined point in the (𝑋_S,𝛿) plane, independent of dimensionality, likely driven by the geometric saturation of available space around particles, void closure, and structural arrangement. >>

<< ️The second transition reveals that jamming in mixtures of differently sized particles does not occur through a single, unified process. Instead, it can involve multiple, distinct transitions, each associated with a specific particle size and contributing uniquely to the emergence of rigidity through excluded area effects and spatial organization. >>

# gst: apropos of drift-waves, their coherent puff and slugs in transitional turbulence.

<< The long-term development of the transitional regime of drift-wave turbulence is studied in a magnetized plasma column by means of the conditional-average technique. >>

<< In the transitional regime, small changes in the magnetic-field strength as control parameter lead to large changes in the correlation times, indicating the existence of a critical point of an underlying nonequilibrium continuous phase transition. >>

<< This and the spatiotemporal dynamics shows similarities to puff splitting, slug-gap splitting, and puff jamming. >>️

# gst: apropos of bubble rearrangements, transition from slip to scraping as critical-like behavior in foam dynamics.

<< Jamming systems, including colloids, emulsions, foams, and biological tissues, undergo significant deformation during processes like material scraping or wound self-healing. To adequately spread a foam or cream over a surface, external force must be applied to artificially scrape it. Notably, the transition from slip to scraping when foam is manipulated using a rigid plate remains poorly understood. >>

<< Systematic observations of the internal foam structure during scraping were conducted, and the scraping length was qualitatively analyzed by varying the scraping velocity. (AA) study reveals that the transition from slip to scraping is driven by the sequential propagation of bubble rearrangements. Furthermore, the scraping length diverges towards the transition point, with a critical exponent of approximately 0.61. >>

<< These findings align with directional percolation theory, underscoring the robustness of the theoretical framework. >>

# gst: quantum jamming on the macroscopic scale

<< In the presence of kinetic constraints, quasiparticles describing the behavior of an ordered arrangement of quantum spins can get “stuck” as their density increases. Because of its similarity to the formation of amorphous solids, this situation can be interpreted as the quantum analog of jamming. Jammed states are intrinsically unstable and small perturbations produce unusual nonequilibrium dynamics. >>

AA << show that quantum jamming is a mechanism to make microscopic phenomena visible at a macroscopic scale: A single impurity produces a permanent change in the state, and a few impurities leave an imprint of their scattering properties and bound states. >>
